The Brightlingsea
Business Association was established 17 years ago in its
present form, although there was a Traders Association
for many years prior to that.
Membership of the Association is open to any bona-fide
business that operates in the Brightlingsea area and can
be recognised by a certificate that should be displayed
in the members business premises.
The membership fee is currently £25 p.a. and meetings
are normally held on the first Monday of each month,
except July and August, at DLR Properties office,
5 Manor Parade, Park Drive, Brightlingsea. Meetings
occasionally have specially invited guest speakers on
subjects of general interest.
The Association has a wealth of experience between its
members who are only too willing to share their
knowledge and help each other, which is just one of the
many benefits available to members.
Commencing in 2008 in conjunction with a leading Law and
Financial Services Company, we will be providing members
with regular updates on any local or national changes
that are due to be implemented from Central Government
or Local Authorities which may effect their business and
in some cases their personal finances.
The Association, as part of its program, is actively
involved in events that take place within the town and
waterside throughout the year, including the very
popular Late Night Shopping Fayre that is held annually
on the first Friday in December to allow local
businesses the opportunity of promoting themselves. All
of these activities encourage new visitors to the town.
Due to the current economic climate which is affecting
many traders, the Association is actively looking at
ways to encourage further investment in the town to help
maintain a healthy economy that will benefit the whole
community and provide further employment opportunities.
